Arriving back in New Hampshire last night was an exciting feeling, after our activity today that will leave us with only three states left before hitting the big five-0. Who would have thought our journey would be nearly over? Not to disappoint in our last few days here, the glorious sunshine has made an appearance, streaming through the window this morning, the American summer is on its way. This was all well and good until we approached the car, luggage in tow. The car was a hot box, a burn risk after baking in the sun all morning, opening the doors we were both engulfed in the heat. The truck politely enformed us that it was 42c (108f)! I had forgotten to put the SatNav away leading to a rather scortching address entry. Aircon on full blast we hit the road, our activity is only five minutes away, the truck steadied itself at 35c (95f)!

After enjoying himself very much in the arcades in Kansas City, Ben had managed to find himself an arcade museum to play in! I of course gleefully joined him, at Funspot which boasts that it’s the largest arcade in the world. We were not disappointed, as we walked in we could see a fair selection of arcade machines but it wasn’t until we rounded the corner that the enormity of the collection hits us! So here we were and here we stayed for the next five or six hours completely transfixed. Ben learnt that I have a slightly worrisome 2p machine obsession, and we won some coupons for doing well, which we spent on souvenir pint glasses, you just can’t beat drinking water from a pint glass, or vodka and lemonade for that matter 😉

It was still hot outside as we left the arcade, heading south we picked up some food and stopped at a nice little motel, where we had a suite, which felt very much like we had our own little apartment. At this point in time we’ve been expecting time to speed up but it hasn’t, we are glad to still be enjoying this amazing trip. It does put some pressure on to make sure we squeeze every little bit out of the last few days with flagging energy, I can only hope we finish the trip as grand as we started it.
