After landing at Alamogordo, New Mexico last night, we were excited to head out today we had some strange happenings to check out πŸ˜‰ . The scenery in New Mexico so far has been spectacular, each state we arrive at we don’t think it can get any better and then it does, in its own way.

We headed over to the famed Roswell! Looking for some alien friends. We had both imagined that UFOs would be a massive deal here and that the towns and cities would be saturated with such imagery. It was a total surprise to see only minimal references to the spooky goings on that apparently took place here. There was only one Street in the entire town that had lots of gift shops and alien related paraphernalia. This Street also happened to house the Roswell UFO Museum, the very place we’d come to visit.

Entry was a very reasonable price and we both found the museum to be informative and impartial. We were allowed to wander around at our own pace and there was lots to see. They had gathered all the documentation you could imagine alongside the exhibits. The museum had a library inside it that keeps data from every reported UFO sighting around the world and the investigations into them.

It was not all serious, the museum has a sense of humour and as we were walking past on of the exhibits seemingly set itself of… Yup you guessed it aliens landed with lights and smoke it was really cool!

After a good stroll around we headed for some food at a highly rated Mexican restaurant. We discovered the Mex bowl which turned out to be delicious! Our waitress was hilarious she had an accent we had not yet heard, we asked here where she was from and it turns out she’s from Seattle! So we look forward to hearing more of the accent on our way around!

After lunch we had planned to drive out to the very rural Corona, where the actual crash happened. However we found out that due to some careless tourists driving out and setting the place alight it has now been closed! πŸ™ we were both throughly disappointed, I know Ben was looking forward to testing the truck out in more rugged terrain!

With no more to do here we made the drive to Albuquerque, it was incredible how the landscape has changed here, from desert to green to red. On our drive to Albuquerque we were witness to the sunset and saw a weird object in the clouds! Maybe it’s our alien friends popping by to say hello after all πŸ˜‰
