Leaving our lodge this morning, we were still a little tired from last night, but still had an active drive in store, no rest for the wicked as they say! To get the most out of Michigan we obviously needed to visit Detroit, but first it was time to go through Hell and back… After another beautiful drive through roughly 232 miles of Michigan’s back roads and interstates we had lunch and made it to Hell. Hell as it turns out is a funky little town in Michigan, named after the guy that owned most of the land said “call it hell for all I care” and so they did and here we are!

We decided to visit a store aptly named Screams Souvenirs, which had a lot of fun things around in the small area, a gift shop, bar, restaurant, mini golf and kayaking. Rolling up we had fun with some signs placed in the garden before heading inside. We noticed that they had some good word play for ordinary items and things, which gave us a giggle, alongside the spookily inventive names of the buildings. Inside the gift shop half of the store was geared up for Halloween and the rest to celebrate the town and it’s name.

After a fun time looking around, we bought a couple of cool t-shirts, one of which is modelled below by Ben 😉 After this fun we headed off for another hour of so of driving before reaching Detroit, the pick up in traffic was a tad shocking after our serene drive. We had quite a cruise around taking in Detroit before checking in, it’s been another long drive!
